These changes came just two weeks after the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) sued Activision Blizzard over an alleged culture of sexual harassment and discrimination. Vanguard’s campaign trips across Europe’s Eastern and Western Fronts, the Pacific, and North Africa as it tells a story about the origins of special forces. The devs have said they hope to make two sequels with the same cast. I don’t know much about this but I suspect it’ll be the same as usual for CoD: a good spectacle worth a play when it eventually become cheap enough in sales....

First up, Treyarch introduces the new maps you’ll be running and gunning through. Armada is an ocean map with ziplines connecting American and Soviet ships. Crossroads is a snowy map in Uzbekistan with several snowmobiles and tanks to snag. You’ll also visit Miami, Moscow, and a location in Angola called Satellite. As for game modes, familiar multiplayer choices will return, naturally. There’s Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, Domination, and Kill Confirmed....

Today is the day for Crytek for formally reveal Crysis Remastered, though the release date and trailer have apparently already leaked anyway. The prettied-up re-release of the supersuit shooter is coming on July 23rd, according to a Microsoft Store page that went live early before being pulled down. Here, check out the trailer. Crytek had a few grievances to spill. Splitting Star Citizen’s Squadron 42 singleplayer component allegedly violated the engine’s license agreement - though Crytek also had doubts that Star Citizen development had transferred away from CryEngine in the first place. The two firms came to blows as recently as last month. In a rather sneaky move, Crytek sought to have their own suit dismissed without prejudice - waiting for a firm release date for Squadron 42 so they could start again on firmer ground....

I’m jazzed to see this. I was already using wee ramps (like those alongside curbs on some roads) for boosts but didn’t realise quite how wacky Cyberpunk’s movement could get. Looking now, I see Cyberpunk speedrunners (yep, they exist - and not just racing to the sex) call that technique ’edgerunning’. Clever wee nod to an in-fiction term for mercs, that (Edgerunners is also the name of the upcoming Cyberpunk Netflix anime, by the way)....

“Following the temporary closure of Kojima Productions, we have had to delay the PC launch of Death Stranding to July 14, 2020, to allow more development time amidst the current work-from-home orders in place,” the company said on Twitter. “Thank you all for your patience and continued support!” A slightly different statement on Steam adds, “This allows the development team more time to finalise and polish.” Death Stranding was previously due to launch for PC on June 2nd, following its November 2019 debut on PlayStation 4....
